Award number three for regional business journalist

A business reporter on a Yorkshire regional newspaper has won a national award for the strength of his features.

Chris Holland, a journalist at the Telegraph and Argus in Bradford was named regional media journalist in the 2012 Excellence in HR Journalism Awards, sponsored by global professional services firm Towers Watson.

The win marks a hat-trick of awards for Chris, who in 2009 was named the Yorkshire Society’s first media personality and won the 2010 O2 Yorkshire business journalist award.

His success was based on entries including a feature on the shake-up of legislation covering agency workers for the newspaper’s Bradford Means Business supplement.

Other articles looked at innovations in apprenticeships, including an innovative training scheme launched by Bradford and Leeds law firm Gordons to enable A-level students to qualify as legal executives, and the success of a chemical plant which had been boosted by bringing people on board with new ideas and policies.

Said Chris: “I was surprised and delighted to win this award from a field of talented specialists.”
