Skydiving reporter raises £1,000 for hospice

A former weekly newspaper reporter has raised more than £1,000 towards a new hospice for terminally-ill children after carrying out a skydive as part of a triple charity challenge.

Inderdeep Bains from the Slough and Royal Borough Observer jumped 14,000 feet frmo a plane, after earlier carrying out a 50-mile bike ride and 125m abseil in support of the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.

Speaking about the skydive, she said: “I was so nervous, but once I got into the plane I couldn’t wait to do it. It was an amazing experience, one of the best things I have ever done. I would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of undertaking this challenge.”

Inderdeep, who has just left the Observer to start working shifts on a trial basis for the Daily Mail, is now preparing for the bike ride next month and the abseil in October and hopes to raise more money towards the good cause.
