Scottish Sunday title sees editorial restructure

A regional publisher has made a series of internal staff changes at  Scottish Sunday title and a sister weekly as part of an editorial restructure.

There have been a number of appointments at DC Thomson papers The Sunday Post and The Weekly News, which sees journalists given senior reporting roles in its Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.

An announcement on the changes was made to staff by editor-in-chief Donald Martin, who wished them all success in their new roles.

The company has also accepted a number of journalists for voluntary redundancy following an announcement in March that up to 15 editorial posts across its newspaper teams were at risk but said it could not provide further details on this as the process was ongoing.

Under the internal appointments, Dawn Donaghey has been chosen as content editor and David Walker as sports editor.

At the group’s Edinburgh office, Iain Harrison has been appointed as chief reporter, while Gordon Blackstock is lead reporter, Kenny Millar is specialist reporter and Alan Shaw is a reporter.

Those chosen for positions in Glasgow are Bill Gibb as chief reporter and Euan Duguid as lead reporter.
