PA launches online shorthand course

A new online shorthand course has been launched by Press Association Training to help budding journalists achieve 100 words per minute.

The new service offers live interactive tutorials and is designed to provide specialist help for students who have already achieved 70wpm but need extra tuition to bring their speed up to the ‘gold standard’.

At the live training sessions, participants can submit questions, receive dictation and gain instant feedback on their progress, with the first 10-week course set to start on 19 May.

Press Association shorthand tutor Susan Nixon said: “Having timetabled online sessions where trainees know they are making an appointment to learn, is an ideal way of keeping focused on the 100 words per minute target.”
