Newspaper company boss to bow out next year

The managing director of North Wales newspaper publisher NWN Media has announced his intention to step down.

David Faulkner, left, is to leave the company, which publishes Wrexham daily The Leader and a number of weekly titles, in June 2012.

NWN Media chairman Russell Whitehair thanked David for his contribution to the business over the past four years.

He said:  “David has done a great job in steering the company through challenging times, and we are fortunate to be in a much stronger position than four years ago to meet the demands of the current and future marketplace.

“We are pleased to say that we will not be losing David’s experience as he has agreed to continue to contribute to the board working with the chairman to ensure the strategies that have led to recent success are built upon”.

“The process of finding a new MD will start immediately.   These are exciting times for NWN, and we will take our time to ensure we get the right person for the job.”

NWN was established in 1848 and publishes 11 weekly titles in Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire as well as The Leader.

Earlier this year it bought the Hereford Admag and Shrewsbury Admag from Northcliffe Media.
