A former chief financial officer of Reuters has been chosen as the chairman designate of Trinity Mirror.
David Grigson will join the company’s board as a non-executive director from 1 January and will take over as chairman from Sir Ian Gibson on 3 August.
A chartered accountant by profession, Mr Grigson has worked as chief financial Officer of both Reuters Group plc and EMAP plc.
He is currently chairman of Creston plc and a non-executive director of Standard Life plc and Ocado Group plc. He was previously a non-executive director of Carphone Warehouse plc.
We can only hope that Mr Grigson adds more to share value than the tenure of Sir Ian, but perhaps that’s asking for a miracle.
