Freelance Producer
Since February of this year I have been doing freelance work with a variety of clients: producing, directing, directing photography, designing motion graphics and editing.
Productions include a TV advert aired on STV for the sports group PlaySport seen by 600 000 viewers, a creative promotion for the charity Advocates for Animals and a BBC TV show called ‘Comedians Storm The Royal Mile’.
It also includes 10 music videos for the highly acclaimed pop band Young Fathers, US record label Justice Through Music, no 1 Polish pop singer Pola and other major record labels and artists. Various commercial clients include: Fife Council, the British Navy, Royal Bank of Scotland, Scottish Government, Nairn’s oat cakes, Whyte & Mackay and the Catholic Church of Scotland.
Currently in production: 2 feature films, a TV documentary, another TV show for the BBC, several charity films as well as other large commercial projects.
February 2009 – February 2010
Senior Productions Executive, Sherwood Films
Responsible for the production of all film work: production, camera operations and sound editing.
During this time I worked on 20 major filming projects with clients such as Knockhill Racecourse, the Ministry of Defence, The Scotsman, The Learning and Skills Council, Oloroso restaurant, Boudiche clothing as well as many others.
October 2008 – February 2009
Head of Creative Services, MCL (Media Control Ltd Europe)
Responsibilities included the creation and development of strategies to improve the visibility of the brand nationally and internationally.
I was at the forefront of creating marketing strategies to expand and develop the client base while making sure the existing clients were happy and were creating the products they needed. I was also in charge of content creation from 3D models of events through to after effects and live motion content for onscreen event graphics.
November 2006 – July 2008
Co-founder, The GRV (Green Room Venue)
Co-founded ‘The GRV’ – a major arts venue for Scotland. Responsibilities included planning and management, budgeting, scheduling and content planning for the internationally known Edinburgh Arts Festival, beyond this my role was to ensure that the General Manager followed the directions of the Board of Directors and that strategies were implemented for financial progression i.e. breaking into new markets and creating new revenue streams. During this time our revenue increased from £500,000 to £1.8 million.
July 2004 – July 2008
Managing Director, Blimey Productions
Managing Director for Blimey Productions. I built the company up from scratch and after 5 years I had a team of 14 working for me, we had 10 directors on our books and within the last 2 years of operation we won 37 awards across the world.
A short list of clients includes: Madness, BBC, ITV, Edinburgh City Council, Scottish Tourist Board, Business Stream (Scottish water), Elmwood, Access, HBO, FedEx, Oracle, Pride and Passion, Black Sugar records, Warp records, The National Galleries of Scotland, The National History Museum and Tate Britain.

I am driven and dedicated to whatever projects I take on. I could be described as trustworthy, detail oriented and caring. I consider my abilities to solve problems and persist as some of my strongest qualities for work. I enjoy working with people and managing a team and strive to bring out the best in my staff.
In my spare time I enjoy mountain walking/climbing. I am also an avid stills photographer with work published in the Guardian, the Sun, the Telegraph and several front covers.
