A group of journalism students have hosted the country’s first nationally syndicated webcast news bulletin.

UKToday is collaboration between five journalism departments at universities around the UK.

It is hoped the webcast will grow into a national student produced news network with schedule news, sport, features and more.

The webcast drew on five regional centres and a national hub at Winchester University.

The participating centres are looking at the results now, with an intention to do another edition before Christmas. A nationally syndicated non-league football round-up is also on the cards.
