Gallagher slams ‘hairdresser turned journalist’

Noel Gallagher has launched an outspoken attack on a regional journalist who claimed he was banned from the former Oasis star’s gig.

Edinburgh Evening News music writer Gary Flockhart said he was refused tickets to the city gig by the rock star’s PR company after writing a bad review on his latest album and calling it a ‘letdown’.

Gary was told there were no spare tickets to the gig and the review he had written had not helped his cause.

According to the Johnston Press owned title, tickets would have been available for any other reviewer on the paper.

However, in a blog posted on the Huffington Post website, Noel rubbished the claims and said Gary was just trying to make a name for himself.

He said: “There was also a story in one of the local newspapers that I’d had some hairdresser-turned-journalist BANNED from the gig for apparently sh***ing on my album? A ludicrous claim.

“As you might guess, I’m not an avid reader of the local Edinburgh News. Sounds like someone trying to make a name for himself, if you ask me.”

HTFP contacted Gary for further comment but he had not responded at the time of publication.

Stop Crying Your Heart Out Gary, I’m sure Noel won’t mind if you Don’t Go Away, D’You Know What I Mean?
