Top journalists still have time to enter the National Council of Journalists’ Awards for Excellence.

The awards recognise and reward the best journalism students completing NCTJ-accredited courses and journalists and photographer with less than two years’ experience on the job.

The five categories cover news journalism, sports journalism, top scoop, features of the year, and images of the year.

There will also be three performance awards based on NCTJ exam results, and an individual award for a journalist who has made a large contribution to the standards of journalism training.

Entries close on 16 September and winners  will be announced at the Society of Editors’ conference on 14 November.
