Exeter’s Express and Echo is in the running for another major award in recognition of its green campaigning.

The newspaper has been short-listed in the Newspaper Awards Environmental Initiative of the Year category, which it won last year.

In the past three years, the Echo has collected three prestigious awards for its Green Team project, which encourages schoolchildren to look after the environment and rewards them for doing so.

Editor Marc Astley said: “It is an incredible achievement to have been short-listed again for this national award which we won last year. The Green Team initiative goes from strength-to-strength.”
