A regional newspaper publisher held a plush ceremony at the O2 arena to award some of its top employees.
Archant London’s Awards presentation was attended by around 200 employees at the IngidO2 concert arena and hosted by managing director Enzo Testa.
Production editor Lindsay Jones was awarded employee of the year and was described as ‘the foundation of the editorial production hub.’
In presenting the award Mr Testa said: “Lindsay Jones is unquestionably the key reason behind the successful formation and continued success of the Archant London editorial production hub and I am delighted that in her 21st year of employment with the company her achievements have been recognised.”
Group design editor Steve Bodycomb took editorial person of the year for redesigning an entire newspaper portfolio and creating a ‘successful editorial production hub’.
Gary Tallowin, digital designer, took the award for new media person of the year for his development and progress of London24 this year, which the company says has seen a 4000pc audience growth in eight months.
Gary was commended for selflessly spending so much of his own time working on initiatives that have contributed to the success of the website, which also won an award for innovation of the year.
Printed product of the year went to Royal Engagement and Royal Wedding magazines which were produced for Prince William’s marriage to Kate Middleton.
Said Mr Testa: “One of the crucial factors especially around royal events is not to produce products that are overly sentimental or even down right tacky.”
No ties then ?

Nice to see an ’employee of the year’ award go to someone in editorial for a change rather than to the usual gold-bangled, brassy dolly in advertising. Well done, Lindsay. Sounds well deserved.

It’s probably the “Brassy Dolly” that keeps Subbo in work!!!!!

Oh Dear Subbo
You write it and they will buy it, why wouldn’t they, you wrote it. No need for advertising then !
