A news website written by citizen journalists has been nominated for an award for the second time in two months.

BlottR has been nominated in the The Europas Awards for Euro tech startups in the ‘best education, recruitment and media startup’ category, against 11 others.

An advisory board for the awards picked out the organisations representing the best new start-ups in Europe, and the people making it all happen.

Last month the hyperlocal site, which has recently branched out into France, was nominated for a Smarta 100 award which lists ‘the most resourceful, original, exciting and disruptive small businesses in the UK.’

The user generated online news service claims to be ‘powered by users who are in the right place at the right time.’
