Budding journalists urged to enter NCTJ contest

Budding reporters are being urged to get their entries in for a contest which aims to find the journalists of the future.

The National Council for the Training of Journalists launched its ‘Stars of the Future’ competition last month as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, in partnership with more than regional newspapers across the UK.

Under the contest, young people between 16 and 18-years-old should submit a 200-word news story to their local participating newspaper by 27 May – with the overall winner being awarded a £250 cash prize, work experience and advice on a career in journalism.
