Awards deadline extended after late surge jams mailbox

Entries for the 30th Tom Cordner North-East Press Awards had been due to close last Friday but will now be extended until Friday 25 November.

Awards secretary Keith Seacroft said: “There has been terrific interest and we have already nearly matched last year’s haul of 171 entries, but this is a special year, the 30th Cordner Awards, so we don’t want anyone feeling thwarted by the email logjam.”

Organisers have now set up a second email address to make more space. Entrants for Page Design and Splash Subbing, Features, Sport and Trainee Journalist Awards should now enter via
