Young web entrepreneurs launch latest news venture

A new Scottish news website and photo wire service has been launched – by a pair of Aberdeen teenagers.

Nathan Adam and Scott Campbell, both 14, have launched NND Scotland, a news site and photo wire dedicated to covering Scottish news and imagery.

The pair had already launched a national site called Net News Daily (NND) which now claims more than 1.5m readers each month.

The dedicated Scottish version of the portal went live this month and has already seen pictures syndicated to The Scotsman and the BBC News website.

“We have seen tremendous success tapping into the voices of the younger generations at Net News Daily in the past year,” said editor and chief photographer Scott.

“We feel that the reporters we have on staff offer a fresh take on news and events, and offer a voice that is untapped in the current media landscape.”

“While we have had the fortune of running a successful multinational media venture for the past year, we decided that we would like to focus on Scottish national news,” he added.

The site features original content and imagery from around the country, contributed by young reporters and photographers ranging in age from 14-18.
