Regional daily editor to be quizzed on PCC Code

A regional daily editor will be among those being quizzed at a question and answer session being held by the Press Complaints Commission.

The watchdog is holding the event in Southampton next month so people can find out more about its work and the services it provides.

Ian Murray, editor of the Southern Daily Echo and a member of the Editors’ Code of Practice Committee, will answer questions from the public on issues about press standards.

The question and answer session will be led by PCC chairman Baroness Buscombe, while PCC director Stephen Abell and Simon Sapper, a public member of the Commission, will also be on the panel.

The Q&A takes place on 9 November at Southampton’s City Art Gallery from 2.30pm, although a surgery session with PCC staff takes place from 1.45pm.
