Reader survey prompts revamp for Welsh daily

Another of Trinity Mirror’s daily titles has undergone a revamp following a large-scale reader survey.

Changes at the Daily Post in North Wales will include more space for comment and analysis, new health, environmental and personal finance platforms, and an expanded business pullout.

The new-look paper, which hits the streets today, will also include a regular ‘Big Picture’ photographic slot featuring scenes from around North Wales.

The Post revamp follows a series of changes to sister title the Liverpool Echo which relaunched last week with new property and business supplements.

Editor Rob Irvine said: “The editorial team at Llandudno Junction have been working hard to make North Wales’ favourite newspaper even bigger and better. Readers can expect more pages, more colour and exciting new editorial content every day.

“Much of the new content being introduced is the kind requested by readers when the title carried out a large-scale survey earlier this year.”

The new Post Health and Post Finance pages will appear on Mondays, alongside football pullout PostMatch which was launched last month.

The Tuesday edition will include a new Go Green feature about environmental and recycling issues, while Wednesday sees a new look Business Post which is being expanded into an eight-page pullout.

Also expanding into an eight-page pullout is the Farm & Country section, which appers on Thursdays, while Friday sees the launch of a new leisure section, ‘What’s On Wales.’

Finally the 76-page Saturday edition rounds off the week with a new look for the Weekend Post magazine which includes ‘real lives’ stories, gardening, fashion, travel, and eating out.
