Scores of press photographers who were taught by legendary photojournalism tutor Paul Delmar are to hold a special thank-you party this month to mark his retirement.

Paul stood down as leader of the press photography course at Norton College, Sheffield earlier this year after three decades.

More than a thousand students passed through his hands during that time, many of whom still work in the newspaper industry.

Now some of them are set to stage a unique reunion bash in Sheffield as a tribute to one of the most revered journalism training figures in the land.

The event being organised through the Paul Delmar Fan Club page on Facebook

Organiser Eddie Keogh said: “We want this to be a truly memorable occasion for Paul and want as many people to attend as possible. Remember one of Paul’s favourite quotes? – ‘ No Excuses!’

“Paul is a truly remarkable person who has helped so many people in their career throughout the years. Lets make this a party that no one will ever forget.”

The event takes place at the George and Dragon pub in Mosborough, Sheffield on Thursday 23 September from 6.30 onwards.
