HoldtheFrontPage is boasting a new addition to its reporting team this week with the arrival of Helen Lambourne from the Mansfield Chad.

Helen, 29, started out in journalism five years ago and gained senior reporter status in the November 2006 NCE examination.

More recently she has been the Chad’s political reporter and has also had responsibility for the newspaper’s website.

Helen, who lives in Chesterfield, succeeds Tamlyn Jones who joined TheBusinessDesk.com as business correspondent last month after two-and-a-half years with the site.

Said Helen: “Since I was a journalism student, I have valued HoldtheFrontPage as a crucial source of news about the regional press.

“I am delighted to now be starting a job working for the website and look forward to the challenge of reporting on the regional newspaper industry, including all the changes affecting it at this time.”

HoldtheFrontPage publisher Paul Linford added: “I know from personal experience what a great training ground the Chad is and I am really pleased that Helen has agreed to join us.

“Tamlyn Jones made a major contribution to the site and would be a hard act for anyone to follow, but I am absolutely confident that Helen will be equal to that task.”
