An independent newspaper group has launched a new jobs platform after choosing a company to help set it up.

The Southport-based Champion Media Group, which publishes six weekly titles, picked MatchWork to provide the technology and support for its new jobs board.

And the new site, jobschampion.com, is now up and running with a range of features including an intuitive search engine to deliver relevant and ranked results and an automated CV matching service.

The group hopes the site will open up new sales opportunities to help it achieve substantial revenue growth in 2011.

MD Betty Drummond said: “We are very excited about our new job board. We recognise that the recruitment advertising market is migrating online and we see great opportunities to please our market, stay ahead of our competition, and win new revenue.”

The Champion Media Group launched its latest title, the Crosby and Litherland Champion, earlier this year, with the creation of four jobs.

MatchWork recently launched a CV matching service for the Belfast Telegraph.
