Lennon pursues McCartney at tribunal media circus

The former wife of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney found herself at the centre of a media scrum when she appeared at an industrial tribunal in Kent this week.

But even Heather Mills McCartney wouldn’t have expected a Kentish Express journalist by the name of Lennon to be among her pursuers.

Reporter Sam Lennon joined the scrum of newsmen waiting to grab words and pictures from Ms Mills as she left the tribunal at Ashford on Tuesday.

Unaware of the coincidence, Ms Mills happily spoke to the waiting press pack before she was whisked away in her car.

She said: “I think it went really well, I’m pleased. I think I’m going to get some justice.”

Sara Trumble, former nanny to Ms Mills daughter Beatrice, had taken her to the Ashford employment tribunal alleging unfair dismissal and sex discrimination. The case continues.

Sam later wrote a first-person piece about the encounter on the paper’s website.
