Deadline looms for Olympic media accreditation

Regional newspapers who want to send reporters and photographers to cover the 2012 London Olympics have just days left to apply for accreditation.

The final deadline for the media to apply to the British Olympic Association to cover the Games is 15 October – a week today.

Applications for press accreditation opened in August, despite the Olympics being two years away.

Regional press representatives can apply by visiting the BOA website and downloading an accreditation form, which is then emailed back.

And the Newspaper Society has held a meeting this week with senior officials of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

At the meeting, issues about accreditation and reporting were discussed and the NS emphasised the importance of ensuring the interests of the regional press were fully taken into account.
