9 November 2009 is the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Not exactly a “hyperlocal” story but that doesn’t mean to say newspapers shouldn’t mark it.
Have a look back through your archives to see how your paper reported the landmark day in 1989.
Speak to some of your more mature colleagues to find out what they remember and have a scout around your patch.
Are there locals living in your town who were able to move following the fall of the Wall?
Or perhaps there are some families who went the other way and relocated to behind the former Iron Curtain post-1989?
