Video record of long-serving editor's career

A weekly newspaper is publishing a series of video interviews with its former editor in which he looks back over his 45-year career in journalism.

Jeremy Plews stepped down as editor of the Mansfield Chad earlier this month after 36 years in charge.

Now he is telling his story in an eight-part series of video interviews which are being published on the Chad’s website over the next eight weeks.

The interviews were carried out by the Chad’s chief photographer Roger Grayson, who himself has chalked up more than 30 years’ service to the paper.

In the first episode Jeremy looks back at how it all began 45 years ago when he first got a job at the Chad as a trainee reporter – despite being two hours late for his interview.
