Record reporters complete Spanish Ironman

Two reporters from the Daily Record have completed an Ironman triathlon in Barcelona.

Mark McGivern finished the course in 10hrs 37mins while James Moncur came home in 11hrs 19mins.

An Ironman consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and finished with a full marathon.

Former Chester Chronicle sub-editor Paul Lucas was crowned green motoring journalist of the year.

Judges said Paul did “a fantastic job of organising a wealth of articles and other information into easy to follow sections”.

The Birmingham Mail 2010 charity calendar is out and this year features a plethora of cute animals.
