The Burton Mail is seeking to appoint a new editor, seven months after the previous incumbent left his post.
Deputy editor Andrew Parker has been in charge of the Iliffe News and Media-owned daily since the departure of Paul Hazeldine in January after seven years in the chair.
Now the group is seeking to make a permanent appointment to the role, which also covers four weekly titles including the Ashbourne News Telegraph.
The Mail’s circulation now stands at 13,734 according to the most recent ABC figures – more than some big-name regional morning titles.
A reorganisation earlier this year saw its publisher Staffordshire Newspapers become part of INML’s Central division, headed by editor-in-chief Steve Lowe who was previously in charge of Bedforshire on Sunday and a series of neighbouring titles.
