Newsquest’s Herald and Times Group and the Carlisle-based CN Group were among the winners at an annual magazine awards ceremony.

Run by the Scottish Periodical Publishers Association, the Scottish Magazine Awards celebrate the best in consumer, specialist and corporate magazines north of the border across 20 categories .

Dumfries and Galloway Life, published by CN Group Magazines, took the top prize of Scottish magazine of the year along with the consumer title of the year crown.

Newsquest’s Herald and Times Group in Glasgow scooped four awards in the business and professional, columnist, publisher and sales performance categories.

Other winners included The Big Issue Scotland, which won three awards, and the Times Educational Supplement Scotland.

Organisers received 149 entries from 42 companies and prizes were handed out at a ceremony in Edinburgh last week.
