Guardian student media awards open for entries

A six-week work placement and £1,650 in cash are up for grabs in this year’s Guardian Student Media Awards.

The annual competition, now in its fourth decade, offers 13 prize categories along with one overall winner who will win the six-week placement at The Guardian.

Other work placements are also on offer with Sky News and the NME.

Previous winners include Andrew Rawnsley, Jonathan Freedland and photographer Rankin.

This year’s judging panel includes Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, NME editor Conor McNicholas, BBC Radio presenter Colin Murray and former Newsnight editor Peter Barron.

The deadline for entries is 3 July except the website of the year category which is 1 June.

The shortlist will be announced in September with winners revealed at the Guardian Student Media Conference and Awards ceremony in late November.
