Yorkshire Post personal finance specialist Conal Gregory has won a top award for his writing about insurance.

The York-based reporter was crowned regional journalist of the year by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association.

The awards, now in their 27th year, celebrate those journalists who have enabled further understanding of insurance.

Conal, a former MP for York, won the same award two years ago and was named the best regional personal finance journalist by the Association of Investment Companies last year.

He took home a cheque, inscribed glass and certificate.

Highly commended in the BIBA awards was Adrienne McGill, from Belfast daily The News Letter.
