Ex regional editor to oversee Northern magazines

A former editor of the Birmingham Evening Mail and Lancashire Evening Post has been appointed group editor of Archant Life’s magazines in the North.

Roger Borrell will have editorial responsibility for Yorkshire Life and Cheshire Life as well as contiuing to edit Lancashire Life, the biggest-selling county publication in the UK.

The Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cheshire titles all recently posted ABC increases for 2008.

Roger, who will report to recently-appointed Archant Life group publishing director Suzanne Heaven, will also oversee Lake District Life, North East Life, Living Edge and their associated websites.

A former editor-in-chief of Trinity Mirror Midlands, Roger switched from newspapers to magazines in 2006 and a year later, Lancashire Life was named Newspaper Society Regional Magazine of the Year.

The appointment comes two days after it was announced that Archant Life’s managing director in the northern region, Liz Page, was made redundant in a company restructure.
