Ex-hacks launch spoof community website

A trio of ex-newspapermen who claim to have “too much time on their hands and too much beer in their veins” have launched a new spoof hyperlocal news website.

petersfieldnewswire.co.uk promises a light-hearted look at the news in the Hampshire town of Petersfield.

The threesome behind the project – known only as Clint, DJ and Frank – are remaining anonymous, but are understood to comprise two former journalists and a photographer.

Said Frank: “We wish to retain some sort of anonymity as Petersfield is only a small town and word soon spreads. But I can tell you that the scribing triumvirate comprises two ex-hacks and a snapper who share the same sense of humour and the same drinking hole.

“Not surprisingly the idea came about after too many beers one night and a discussion about the way the industry was heading.

“We know there are quite a few retired hacks in the area so hopefully they’ll come forward with ideas of their own.”

He added: “Small local newspapers all over the country run the same sort of stories and there’s always something at which you can poke fun.

“The day we run a serious story will be the day you can shoot us.”

If you aim to be satirical it always helps if you can actually be funny.
Which this website isn’t.
Go back and have a look at the Daily Mash again lads. Thats how to do it.
