Business editors stage live Budget blog

Trinity Mirror dailies staged a live blog yesterday in which regional business editors discussed the implications of The Budget with business leaders and members of the public.

Using CoverItLive technology, the blog featured business editors Alun Thorne (Birmingham Post and Mail), Sion Barry (Western Mail), Andrew Hebden (Newcastle Chronicle and Journal), and Bill Gleeson (Liverpool Daily Post).

The liveblog was hosted on the Birmingham Post site from 11.50am until 1.06pm yesterday.

The four journalists discussed the implications of the Chancellor’s Wednesday package for their regions and responded to points raised by visitors to the site.

The liveblog can be read in full here.

Coveritlive is, for those who hven’t used it, a wonderful piece of kit – free – which has all kinds of imaginative uses. And it relies on traditional journalistic skills – using words – but in a whole new way. Should be in every newsroom in the country.
