Argus trio in charity half-marathon bid

Three reporters are taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday to raise money for their newspaper’s appeal.

Senior reporter Ben Frampton and trainees Faye Dickson and Ruth Mansfield are all reporters on the South Wales Argus, which is attempting to fund a purpose-built centre for disabled children in Newport.

The £1.5m Sparkle appeal is designed to create a one-stop shop for 1,200 disabled children to receive treatment, therapies and support, and has been backed by the Argus since its launch.

Deputy editor Nicole Garnon said she was delighted Ben, Faye and Ruth offered to be sponsored for the appeal.

“We have supported the creation of this centre from the word go and have helped publicise lots of fundraising over several years. It is great that our staff are prepared to do their bit to raise money as well,” she said.
