Norwich daily the Eastern Daily Press has relaunched its website edp24.co.uk.

The move by the Archant daily follows similar makeovers at Suffolk sister titles the Evening Star and East Anglian Daily Times earlier this year.

Photography holidays in locations such as China and Morocco are on offer in the annual Travel Photographer of the Year Awards.

The awards are open to anyone, whether professional or amateur, aged over 17.

There are eight prize categories: people of the world; natural wonders; homeland; photo essay; festival, fiesta and celebration and postcards from anywhere.

There is also the overall title of travel photographer of the year and young photographer of the year for snappers aged 16 and under.

News Shopper Series reporter Dan Keel proved he knew his pesetas from his patatas fritas when he passed GCSE Spanish with no training.

Dan achieved a 62pc pass rate, earning him a grade C, without taking any Spanish lessons in preparation.

He took the exam as the latest challenge in the Dan Dares series of features in which he attempts various tasks such as getting from his office in South East London to Brighton for free or running a half marathon with three weeks of training. His strike rate now sits at five successes and two failures.

The 2009 European Young Journalist Award is open for entries.

Journalists aged between 17 and 35 in any of the 27 member states can enter work published or broadcast in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Articles must focus on issues of European importance. The national winner from each member state will be invited to a paid cultural holiday in Berlin in late August or early September.
