Well-known newspaper print manager has died, aged 43

Tributes are being paid to former Lincolnshire Echo print manager Ady Hodson, who has died aged 43.

After leaving school he took up a number of practical jobs before settling on a career with the Northcliffe Newspaper Group.

He first worked at the Lincolnshire Echo headquarters in Lincoln and most recently at its sister site in Grimsby.

He joined the Echo in 1987 as a packer in the publishing department at Lincoln and worked his way up to print manager, before moving to the Grimsby print operation two years ago.

Grimsby Telegraph operations manager Phil Hammond said: “As production manager he quickly became part of the team and his sad and untimely death has left a huge void in the hearts of all at Harmsworth Printing in Grimsby.

“He will be remembered for his great sense of humour, loyalty to friends and colleagues and total 24-hour commitment to the job.

“Personally I would like to say his friendship and guidance will be greatly missed.”

Friend and former Lincolnshire Echo colleague Kirk Wilkinson said: “He was liked by everyone who worked with him, he was hard-working and committed to his work and he was a true friend.”

The funeral service was held at Lincoln Crematorium where donations were made to Cancer Research UK.
