Upbeat farewell planned for leukaemia reporter

An upbeat memorial service will be held next month for Huddersfield Daily Examiner journalist Adrian Sudbury.

The 27-year-old, who died last month after losing his a two-year battle with leukaemia, had planned two funerals with his family during his final weeks.

Three weeks ago a private family service was held near Nottingham whereas Sheffield Cathedral is expected to welcome hundreds of people to pay tribute on October 16.

Anyone attending the ceremony is asked to ‘dress to impress’ in bright clothing and there will be messages from Adrian himself and 5 News presenter Natasha Kaplinsky.

Adrian became known around the world for his award-winning Baldy’s Blog and campaigning for compulsory classes about bone marrow, blood and organ donation to be added to the sixth form curriculum.
