Reporters hit the TV screen for film festival podcast

Reporters at the Burton Mail have been making a film for an international festival coming to the town.

The Staffordshire daily is also sponsoring the Heart of England International Film Festival which will showcase both local and foreign movie-making talent.

Reporter Helen Kreft was filmed interviewing chief reporter Adrian Jenkins for a podcast to promote the four-day event to be held in June in towns across the Midlands.

Helen told holdthefrontpage: “It was very weird.

“I have a lot of esteem for presenters and actors because I now know what they feel like.

“There’s going to be events around the area showing films.

“So far about 200 films have been submitted from around the world.

“I am also e-mailing invites locally to businesses to get them involved.”

The duo were filmed at the paper’s HQ in Burton by film director and the event’s founder Binda Singh.

The podcast will be available to view via the film festival’s and the Burton Mail’s websites.

There are awards in 22 different categories including best British feature film, best student film, best film under 20 minutes and best documentary.
