Press watchdog calls 'fowl' on poultry mag

The Press Complaints Commission has successfully mediated its 400th complaint this year.

Known for primarily dealing with local and national newspapers and magazines, it was niche title Practical Poultry Magazine which incurred the PCC’s wrath.

Michelle Park, from Banchory, in north-east Scotland, complained that the magazine had published an edited version of a letter she had sent to a supplier.

It was used by the magazine as part of a question and answer section but the woman had not actually given her consent for it to print the letter.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published a further letter from the complainant.

The PCC says that last year it resolved 482 complaints to the satisfaction of complainants.
