New website boosts Advertiser's offering

The Maidenhead Advertiser has relaunched its website with a new look to fully embrace the readers’ multimedia experience.

Although the address is the same – maidenhead-advertiser.co.uk – the site has undergone a complete transformation.

It now offers easier access to a one-stop shop of local news, sport, leisure, information and services, together with a variety of new advertising opportunities for local businesses.

Up until a year ago content on the Advertiser’s website consisted only of a selection of news from its weekly newspaper, but in April last year the company invested in a video editing suite and created an internet department staffed by internet manager Greg Paine, digital editor Kelly Rawlings, website administrator Peter Flowers and web reporter Claire Moulson.

This team now provides the Advertiser with a daily platform for news and information and over the past year the content of the site has been expanded – it is updated throughout the day with breaking news, sport, entertainment and video reports.

Kelly said: “We have already increased our visitor numbers – our unique users have grown by 50 per cent in the past year to over 30,000 per month. This is an exciting time for digital media and we expect the redesign of the site to further build upon this.”

Greg added: “We believe this new site will appeal to local advertisers and we are projecting a very significant increase in advertising revenue over the next 12 months.”
