Nearly three quarters of respondents to a National Union of Journalists website survey say they have been bullied at work.

A further 18pc have seen it happen in their workplace, the union says.

NUJ Equality Officer Lena Calvert said: “Bullying can be enormously damaging to both the individuals and those who witness it. Workplace bullying costs money and is unhealthy for the organisation which allows it to happen.”

The survey comes on the back of the launch of the NUJ’s bullying handbook.
