A further three senior executives of regional newspaper publisher Newsquest have left the company, it has been confirmed.
On Tuesday HoldtheFrontPage revealed that the roles of three executives at Newsquest York were being reduced to one with an MD and two editors invited to apply for the new ‘managing editor’ job.
And earlier this month Newsquest Bolton MD Eric Henshaw left the company with responsibility for his titles, including The Bolton News, switching to Blackburn MD Jan Lever.
Now a similar management restructure has taken place at Newsquest Cheshire and Merseyside with Group MD Eleanor Underhill leaving the company this week along with publishers Nuala O’Rourke, of the Sale and Altrincham Messenger series.
Also on his way is the Westmorland Gazette’s Mike Glover, who in the 1990s was editor of the short-lived regional Sunday newspaper Yorkshire on Sunday.
Eleanor Underhill only recently took the Wirral Globe series into her portfolio after publisher Derek King was made redundant.
Newsquest has so far made no official comment on the departures.
