Live newspaper experiment comes under digital editors' spotlight

The Liverpool Daily Post’s recent live blogging experiment will be the subject of the next Digital Editor’s Network meeting.

Last month, the Trinity Mirror title blogged an entire edition from start to finish, taking reader input and streaming live interviews via its website.

Now, the Network will gain an insight into how it was done from deputy editor Alison Gow.

During the meeting, delegates will also take a tour of the Daily Post and Echo’s shared newsroom and hear from Trinity Mirror’s new head of regional multimedia David Higgerson.

Business development director Mark Dickenson will also speak about monetising the web.

The Digital Editor’s Network is an industry partnership initiative with the University of Central Lancashire, in Preston.

The event starts at 1.45pm on June 16. Attendance is free but space is limited to 25.
