Johnston Press dailies dominate Yorkshire prize shortlist

Sister newspapers the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post feature heavily in this year’s Yorkshire Press Awards.

The Johnston Press morning and evening titles have been nominated a 19 times altogether across the 18 prize categories.

Also in with a great chance of picking up a trophy are the Hull Daily Mail (eight) and the Doncaster Free Press (six).

The Hull Daily Mail has won four of the last five Newspaper of the Year (Daily) crowns and is shortlisted again for the prize this year.

The award ceremony takes place on November 13 in Wakefield and will be hosted by news broadcaster Clare Frisby.
