Is newsroom integration working? Major players to debate issues

Editors at four of the world’s most prestigious newspapers will examine whether newsroom integration is working when they meet at the 15th World Editors Forum in Sweden this June.
Javier Moreno, editor-in-chief of El Pais in Spain, Bruno Patino, president of Le Monde Interactif in France, Jim Roberts, editor of Digital News for the New York Times, and Almar Latour, managing editor of the Wall Street Journal’s wsj.com, will be featured in a session devoted to the successes – and failures – experienced by newspapers in the process of merging print and online newsrooms.


Magazine association PPA’s first edition of the the Magazine Media Handbook is now available online.
The handbook, a working document, analyses the UK magazine industry and contains information and data about consumer, business media and customer publishing.
It will be updated on an ongoing basis to ensure members and clients have the latest information to help them drive the case for magazines and business media.


The Sentinel has launched a campaign to save the world’s last-remaining Hole in the Wall oatcake shop from demolition. The Stoke-on-Trent paper is calling on regeneration agency Renew North Staffordshire to preserve what it is labelling “a priceless piece of Potteries heritage”. It plans to bulldoze the historical gem which was built in 1893.


Jonathan Stayton has joined The Argus in Brighton as a senior reporter.
He went to Leeds University and completed his NCTJ at Sheffield’s Norton College. After completing his exams he started working at the Esher News and Mail, in Surrey. Away from the world of work, he last year ran the London and New York Marathons – and is also an avid Crystal Palace fan.
