Yorkshire Post chooses its new deputy editor

Duncan Hamilton has been named as the new deputy editor of the Yorkshire Post.

He replaces John Furbisher, who left to become editor at the Halifax Evening Courier.

Duncan is currently assistant editor at the Nottingham Evening Post and his career there has included time following Nottingham Forest FC during their European glory days and a stint as sports editor before being promoted to his present position.

He will take up his new job at the Leeds-based Johnston Press title next month.

Duncan’s career began with a local news and sports agency near Nottingham and included a spell at the short-lived Maxwell publication the London Daily News. He is also a published author, penning books on Nottingham Forest.
