This is Wiltshire has created a site full of fun for Christmas.

This Is Christmas was launched in early December to provide a one-stop guide to the festive season.

The site was the brainchild of the digital media team at Newsquest Wiltshire and was created in a week by web designer Michael Rodham-Heaps.

It has plenty of animation features with a virtual Christmas card and a lively navigation system designed entirely in ‘Flash’.

This Is Christmas is packed with news and features from Newsquest Wiltshire’s print publications the Swindon Evening Advertiser, Gazette and Herald, Wiltshire Times and Salisbury Journal.

Surfers can choose a Christmas desktop from a selection of unique wallpaper designs, send a Christmas postcard, read up on lots of present ideas and the history of Christmas in the gift guide and festive features sections, browse the food and drink section for inspiration, check out their horoscopes for 2003 and much more.

For events during the holidays, This Is Christmas has regularly updated leisure listings and the festive what’s on database.

The section is fully integrated with This is Wiltshire’s what’s on database, enabling revellers to enter their own events and find out what is going on in their local area or favourite venue.

The Swindon Evening Advertiser Christmas supplement has been upsold to the site and surfers can also enjoy some seasonal sounds too.

There is also a countdown to Christmas to show how many shopping days are left.

The site will be live until the end of December.
