Readers of the Gloucester Citizen boosted the number of visits to a website after it was featured in the newspaper.

The antics of Hercules the parrot, who receives fan mail from around the world through a website set up by his owner, received an extra 400 visits following the article in The Citizen.

Owner Paul Fairbank said: “Having 400 ‘hits’ in four days is a tribute to the power of the Internet and that of The Citizen. I’m delighted.”
