Where are they now?Don Mildenhall

HoldTheFrontPage is trying to track down a few of the big-hitters you might remember from your days as a trainee – to see how they’re faring away from their former life of headlines and deadlines.

Don Mildenhall is best known as a former editor of the Western Gazette, the newspaper he spent his entire working career with.

He is also a former president of the Guild of British Newspaper Editors and has received an MBE for his services to journalism.

Since 1991 he has been enjoying an ‘active retirement’, becoming involved in local government and also helping to set up newspapers in third world countries and poorer parts of Europe.
