The relaunched website for the Redditch Standard has been wowing readers – with 35,000 hits in its first full month of operation.

An independent survey revealed the figures for November at www.redditch-now.com reached an average 1,185 hits a day.

Standard editor Andrew Powell told readers he thought the figures were impressive.

“We could never have imagined such interest so early on in the project,” he said.

“And this is only the start. Over the coming months, internet users will see redditch-now.com getting bigger and better.”

As well as news and sport the on-line facilities include, a full sports club directory, business directory, community contacts and information, a days out section, dating service, a what’s on calendar of local events, competitions, local money saving coupons and other features.

The Redditch Standard’s parent company, Observer Standard Newspapers Limited, has a dedicated Internet Division, which keeps the site up-to-date.
